(INCI LEONTOPODIUM ALPINUM FLOWER/LEAF EXTRACT)

SUSTAINABLE, CULTIVATED AND ORGANIC

HOW ALPINE EDELWEISS IS OBTAINED

High up in the Alps, between July and September, when the midday sun makes the mountains shine and a pleasantly warm wind blows. Far and wide nothing but the beautiful and breathtaking alpine landscape.

And a multitude of magnificently blooming Edelweiss flowers. The certified organic plants are inspected by experts and only when the Edelweiss meets all the criteria necessary for the products, the plant is harvested and prepared for further use.

THE ‘SYMBOL OF THE ALPS AND OF LOVE’

The symbolic queen among the alpine flowers combines tradition and origin like no other plant. It symbolizes eternal beauty and immortality, because its shape and color remain unchanged for decades, even after picking.

Alpine Edelweiss grows at altitudes of 2,000 – 3,000 meters and is thus exposed for centuries to extreme and aggressive external conditions such as wind, frost, strong sunlight and lack of water.

THE HEALING POWER OF THE ALPS. HOW ALPINE EDELWEISS PROTECTS THE DELICATE SKIN

Edelweiss has active ingredients especially suitable for delicate and sensitive skin. These have an antiseptic effect, which means that they reduce the number of infectious germs present on the skin and can thus fight and ward off infection. With its antioxidant properties, Edelweiss also offers protection against so-called ‘free radicals’. These free radicals are caused, for example, by harmful external influences such as environmental toxins, cigarette smoke or UV radiation.

Edelweiss was the first plant ever to be placed under nature protection as early as 1886. Therefore, only cultivated and certified organic Edelweiss extract from the Alps is used for the products, which not only protects the skin, but also the population of wildflowers under nature conservation!
